ANN MAXWELL

I also hold a masters degree as well as certification in Hatha Yoga, Yoga for Cancer Survivors and am an experienced teacher trainer and yoga therapist.  I get great satisfaction in supporting the teachers in training find their niche, grow their skills and become great yoga teachers and therapists. I love helping people learn how to practice & teach the SomaYoga methodology, which has been developed at ISYI. I live on the edge of the wilderness in Yoga North’s retreat center on Jasper Lake in Ely, MN. I bring the spirit of adventure and curiosity to my work as a yoga instructor and business owner, grounding my ability in the practicality and expertise of the body.  I enjoy modeling yogic living for my students and bringing a sense of wisdom and fun to the daily practice of yoga.

BECKY STELLA

With a background in dance, I came to yoga in my early 20s, amazed at the transformation it brought. In 2005, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis and have furthered my education through yoga therapeutics training and various yoga and movement workshops. In early 2009, I completed the TRX Suspension® teacher training and Unnata® Aerial Yoga Teacher training in NYC.  I practice aerial acrobatics with The Aerial Collective based in Minneapolis and currently teach Unnata® Aerial Yoga and Aerial dance (both using fabric hammocks).

I strive for a balance of both discipline and light-heartedness in movement, meditation, and all aspects of life.

JIM ROBINSON

For the past 20-plus years I have been balancing my dual careers as a professional improviser and a psychology professor at St. Kate’s and St. Thomas.  I’ve brought these two interests together in my psychology course called Improvisation and Mental Health and also in my workshops Get Out of Your Own Way! and You Have Everything You Need!  I’m an alumnus of both the Brave New Workshop and Actors Theater and am a writer/performer/producer with my own theater company, Table Salt Productions.  I’ve taught improvisation through the BNW Student Union, the Guthrie Theater, and with The Theater of Public Policy.
Improvisation changed my life!  I learned how to say “yes, and!” and to live fully and authentically in the moment.  I hope you’ll enjoy improvising as much as I have!
