Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Practice gets at the physicality of writing by combining the ancient practice of sitting meditation with walking meditation to allow the wild mind to settle and flow outward onto the page, while SomaYoga aims to connect us to our deep center and radiate out our authentic selves. Writing is a physical activity that stems from this center and goes outward. Consciously engage your layers of being through breath, walking and sitting meditation, and lastly a writing practice. Watch the wild mind unfold, settle, and reveal.

  • TIME: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • COST: $35
  • PRE-REGISTER here

Aerobic fitness has been shown to benefit both mind and body, much like yoga. Since the evidence is pretty compelling that yoga doesn’t improve aerobic fitness very much, most yoga practitioners can benefit from including some aerobic activity in their routines.

While some yoga practitioners love to hike, run, bike, etc, many find that aerobic activities feel injurious or depleting. For this reason, Alignment Yoga is actively researching creative ways for yoga practitioners to improve their aerobic fitness. Please join us!

When we think of connective tissue, our thoughts generally turn to tendons and ligaments. While we don’t often hear about fascia, it’s the connective tissue that literally holds our bodies together. Without the integrity of fascia, our bodies wouldn’t have their familiar shape, form or functionality.

In this workshop, you will learn what fascia is, and how it transmits forces from one part of the body to another. Using easy-to-learn yoga techniques, you will develop a strategy to release long-standing biomechanical restrictions, and gain insight into the wisdom of the yoga poses.
