Dance has the power to transform and heal us by bringing us back to our innate, intuitive nature. JourneyDance™ is a systematic movement modality designed to promote emotional freedom, physical fitness, and to build community in a fun and non-judgmental environment. From a young age we are scripted to move, look, and act in certain ways. In JourneyDance, we peel back the layers of conditioning to redefine our relationship with our bodies, emotions, and to reconnect with our true selves. No prior experience is required.

Summer plays a variety of music from around the world – mixing deep tribal drumming, classic soul and inspirational chanting for an experience that will move you from the inside out. With creative imagery and movement suggestions, you will be guided through a series of exercises that will leave you feeling empowered and embodied. JourneyDance is fun, funky, fluid, and powerful!

Summer Joy Hills-Bonczyk (RYT 200-hr, M.F.A.) has been dancing since she came into the world. She first met JourneyDance™ founder, Toni Bergins, when she took a class at Kripalu Yoga Center in Western Massachusetts. She was immediately hooked! Summer completed her JourneyDance teacher training in 2011 and is thrilled to share this beautiful gift with you. Summer’s teaching is inspired by her in-depth interest in shamanic ritual, mystical poetry, yogic wisdom, and love of world music. In addition to dance, Summer is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher, visual artist, and the founder of Artist in the Kitchen.
