BALANCING YOUR CHAKRAS with Ann Blackburn
- DATE: May 18, 2013
- TIME: 9:00-11:00 am
- DAY: Saturday
Do you ever wonder why you feel so awesome when you leave a yoga class? Do you notice it working it’s wonders into different areas of your life? One answer is that it helps balance your “chakras”. Chakras are energy centers or valves in the body that regulate our energy system. Hatha Yoga poses have evolved as tools for opening and balancing chakras. They interact with the body through the endocrine and nervous system. Each chakra can be associated with different parts and functions of the body including all of your senses, experiences, emotions, and state of awareness. Understanding your chakras helps you understand the relationship between your body and your consciousness. We will learn chakra basics and explore the relationship between the poses and each individual chakra. You will leave with a better understanding the signs of being out of balance and some ways you can bring yourself in balance. (Note: Wear your favorite color or the color that you are drawn to that day)
