This is a 5-week series running from April 26th - May 24th
Finding our way in these times is complicated. Most of us have never had so many global events impact our lives at one time. Men historically have been told not to feel or share feelings if they exist. We’ve been told to “Be a man” in one way or another. You can fill in the details of your most remembered expression. Often this leads us to isolation especially now.
Yoga is more than “asana” or the movement characterized in today’s social story. The Yamas and Niyamas are foundational to all yogic thought. These teachings have been used for centuries as guideposts and places of reflection in the journey through life. We’ll use the navigation tools of the Niyamas to inform our daily practice.
In our 5-week series we’ll unpack the Niyamas with our asana practice. In each session of the series we’ll use movement/breath/meditation as a means to process the lessons of the Niyamas. This series will be held online via Zoom. Each week’s practice will be recorded for you as reference for your home practice. A journal is encouraged as a place to write down your own observations, insights and thoughts. Be curious. This is a brave space of self-exploration.
